“Sea Springs” is located on the sea shore at Bandstand, in Bandra (W). It derives its name from fresh water springs that run below the surface, trickle through the rocks on the shore into the sea. The society was formed in 1978 it comprises of 2 and 3 bedroom flats and a couple of bungalows, all with a marvelous views of the Arabian Sea. The name “Bandstand” traces its history to British times, when on some evenings a brass band would play music in a gazebo in the small garden by the sea. It is surrounded by historical sites, such as: a “fort” constructed by the Portuguese in the 1600s, Mount Mary Church (initially built by the Portuguese, the current church building was rebuilt over a hundred years back) and a “fishing village” which is still humming with the fishing boats. Over the last few decades it has also become popular with “Bollywood” both as a location for film shootings and for the abodes of film stars.
